Melky Cabrera New York Yankees - Sepia Tone - Autographed 8x10 PhotographMelky Cabrera was recalled by the New York Yankees from the Bombers' Triple-A affiliate Columbus in May- 2006- to replace an injured Hideki Matsui in left field. On June 6- 2006- Cabrera garnered nationwide attention by deftly stealing a home run from Manny Ramirez in the eighth inning of a Yankees-Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium- when he reached over the left center field wall to retrieve a sharp line drive. The potential home run would have tied the ballgame at 2-2; the Yankees ultimately won the game a 2-1 margin. Cabrera looks likely to be a big part of the Bombers' future.
